The Fayette County Board of Education has signed off on an agreement to lease the former Brooks Elementary School building to the Liberty Tech public charter school.

The board approved the measure 5-0 Tuesday. Under the agreement, Liberty Tech will pay the county $6,000 a month from July 1, 2016 to Aug. 30, 2019 and be responsible for all repairs and maintenance. L

iberty Tech will offer classes in grades 3-8 on a three-semester schedule from early September 2016 through mid-August 2017. Students in grades K-9 will be admitted in 2017, with grades 10-12 being added from 2018 to 2020, respectively.
