Lawrenceville Highway study gets ARC approval

May 26, 2011

The Atlanta Regional Commission has approved a study of Lawrenceville Highway for a special designation that could mean money for future studies and development along the highway through Lilburn.

The Lilburn Community Improvement District recently completed a study recommending a variety of improvements along Lawrenceville Highway in the Lilburn area. ARC has approved the study as a “livable centers initiative,” which promotes sustainable growth.

That designation could qualify the Lilburn CID for various government and ARC grants as it moves forward with plans to redevelop Lawrenceville Highway, said Gerald McDowell, the district’s executive director.
