Kennesaw downtown parking changes were approved 5-0 Monday by the Kennesaw City Council, adding nearly 50 spaces but also a time limit.
Now there is a time limit of three hours between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. for those parking downtown or at City Hall. There will be 24 more parking spaces available at all times at 2980 Lewis St. Then on weekends and evenings, another 23 spaces will be available due to a 10-year ground lease agreement with Dr. Bruce Hester. In exchange, the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority will pay Dr. Hester $1,800 a year for property maintenance.
Also, Council approved an ordinance to adopt uniform rules of the road and change the parking ordinance.
