Jury selection in hot-car death case begins second week

BRUNSWICK — With jury selection roughly half complete, week two of the Justin Ross Harris trial commences this morning. It appears likely that the final pool of at least 42 qualified jurors will be in place by the end of the week, and the 12-member jury may indeed be chosen Friday.

Superior Court Judge Mary Staley Clark finished last week with 23 people qualified.

The last juror to be questioned on Friday in Glynn County Superior Court was a woman who, weeping, said she didn't think she could make it through a trial focused on the death of a 22-month-old boy. Both sides agreed to excuse her.
