Johns Creek has hired a certified public accountant who has worked in public-sector finance for Smyrna, Fayette County and the state of Georgia as its new finance director.
Toni Jo Howard’s first day on the job will be Monday.
Selected from a pool of more than 130 candidates, Howard formerly was interim city administrator and finance director for Smyrna, assistance chief financial officer and controller for the Fayette County Board of Commissioners, and senior auditor for Georgia’s Department of Audits and Accounts.
She also has worked in the private sector, as a manager at First Data and audit manager at Cherry, Bekaert and Holland LLP.
Howard has a master’s degree in professional accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from West Georgia University.
