The city of Johns Creek has been named Special Needs Certified, a designation awarded by a private agency of the same name that focuses on educating workers on understanding, engaging with and serving citizens with special needs.
Special Needs Certified offers online training for organizations who want to upgrade their services in that area, with a series of videos and other materials. Johns Creek officials said all full-time staff and contract employees took part in the training process.
Johns Creek provides several programs for special needs residents, such as a summer kickoff picnic and special needs Easter egg hunt.
