Johns Creek officials will launch the second year of it’s neighborhood street repaving program in April.

The city originally set aside $1.5 million for the work, but the city council voted to allocate another $3.5 million. Officials said that expanded the number of neighborhoods to be repaved in 2016 to as many as 26, depending on the price of asphalt and the availability of contractors.

Last year, contractors repaved 34 miles of streets in 34 subdivisions, spending more than $5.8 million.

No project list has been set for 2016.
