Irwin Street in Inman Park will be closed to vehicles Saturday evening for the 2016 Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade.

Irwin between Krog and Randolph streets will be off limits to motorists from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Parade walkers are asked to start lining up on Irwin at 7:15 p.m. The parade begins at 8:15 p.m. at Irwin and the Beltline Eastside Trail, heading north for two miles to the event’s end at Piedmont Park.

Krog and Randolph streets will be open to northbound and southbound traffic. The suggested detour for those driving east on Irwin/Lake Avenue is to turn right on Randolph, left on Edgewood Avenue and left on Waddell Street back to Lake. Westbound drivers, follow the same route in reverse.

The parade marks the beginning of the seventh annual Art on the Atlanta Beltline exhibition. More than 60,000 people turned out for last year’s parade.
