A new comprehensive ranking of health finds that Gwinnett County is No. 3 among 10 metro Atlanta counties and No. 5 statewide.

The study of more than 20 measures of health and well-being by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute found that Gwinnett has significantly lower rates of violent crime, injury deaths, sexually transmitted diseases and teen births than the state averages for those measures.

On the downside, Gwinnett had much longer daily commutes on average than other folks in the state, and the county experiences slightly higher levels of air pollution than the state average.
