The Holly Springs City Council has renewed a partnership with the Cherokee County School Board that waives rental fees for city use of school facilities, and has the city involving the schools in land use projections and other development issues.

Among other provisions of the agreement, the school district will continue to let the city use the Holly Springs Elementary School parking lot for its annual Autumn Fest and Easter Egg Hunt, and give an annual report on capital improvements at schools attended by Holly Springs students.

Holly Springs will waive the rental fees for school use of the city-owned portion of J.C. Mullins Park, and provide a portable police radio to each city school, judges for school contests, and opportunities for student internships and high school senior projects.

Both parties will share data on population growth and enrollment and work together on zoning matters “so that developers are routinely expected to discuss mitigating the financial impact on the school system and Holly Springs,” the agreement says.
