Holly Springs has scheduled a public hearing for Aug. 15 on a proposed millage rate that would be less than last year’s.
The city will discuss a 2016 millage rate of 5.086, down from 5.315 in 2015, at a hearing 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 3235 Holly Springs Parkway. The City Council will vote on the millage rate following the hearing.
Net taxes levied in Holly Springs are expected to exceed $1.9 million, up from last year’s $1.8 million, because of growth in the tax digest, City Manager Robert H. Logan said. This year’s gross tax digest is $432.7 million, 12.5 percent higher than 2015’s $384.5 million.
