Holly Springs appoints new budget director

Holly Springs has announced the appointment of city employee Denise Lamazares as finance director.

Lamazares joined the Cherokee County city in 2010 as an accountant and has worked closely with City Manager Robert H. Logan, who has been finance director for the last nine years, according to a city announcement. “Over the years, Denise has continually worked to increase her responsibilities without compromising the quality of work that she produces,” Logan said.

Lamazares came to Holly Springs from Pembroke Pines, Fla., where she worked for 12 years and ended her career there as a budget analyst. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida Atlantic University.
