Sections of State Bridge Road in Johns Creek will be closed the morning of Dec. 2 as thousands of spectators line the 1.4-mile route of the annual Founders Day Parade, from Morton Road Park to Ocee Elementary School.

The parade, which marks the beginning of the North Fulton County holiday season, steps off at 10 a.m. But the first of three State Bridge closings starts earlier, at 8 a.m., as State Bridge between East and West Morton roads is blocked off.

Morton, which is shaped like a horseshoe and crosses State Bridge at two points, can be used as a bypass around the closed section until 9:15 a.m., officials said. At that time, State Bridge from West Morton to Jones Bridge Road will be closed. Jones Bridge will stay open until about 10 a.m. At 10 a.m., State Bridge will be closed from East Morton to Kimball Bridge Road. All roadblocks should be lifted by about noon.
