The Henry County Emergency Management Agency conducted an active shooter drill on April 12 at the county administration building with the cooperation of law enforcement and all building employees. Volunteers acted as various county officials, as well as victims during the simulated chaos, which came with replicated gunfire and other sound effects.

In the months leading up to the drill, law enforcement held several active shooter classes to help prepare employees for this type of emergency. Henry County EMA Director Don Ash said the county had been preparing for this drill since October and made a substantial investment of time and energy into ensuring that employees have the tools they need in the event of such an emergency.
