Henry County fire station construction moving forward

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 3 to approve a bid of $1.653 million for construction of Fire Station No. 2, a replacement station in Locust Grove budgeted under the county’s SPLOST.

The bid was submitted by J.R. Bowman Construction in McDonough. When asked by commissioners, county officials stated that the project is “shovel-ready” and can proceed immediately.
