The Henry County Fire Department received official approval to hire 20 new certified full-time employees.
The cost of $998,996.42 is in the department’s budget, and the Board of Commissioners approved the move at its Nov. 17 regular meeting. Also approved was a bid of $76,368 for new fire turnout gear both for new employees and to replace worn-out gear that is no longer wearable.
