Henry County government officials have announced that all of its facilities are closed through April 21.

The decision was made “based on the escalation of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, and after careful consideration,” according to a statement. This includes all Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, activities, rentals and events. All parks are also closed, and registration for the department’s summer camp program will not begin before April 21.

The announcement comes on the heels of a “safer at home” ordinance with shelter-in-place restrictions passed by the Board of Commissioners at an April 1 special called meeting. Most county offices are accessible by phone and email during this time.
