Henry County officials met March 3 at the county’s Emergency Management Agency headquarters with city official and other community leaders to discuss the latest reports regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

No cases of the virus have surfaced in the county, but local leaders took the opportunity to discuss how to address the issue proactively so that local citizens have the best chance to stay healthy. A committee has been formed to education the public on the matter, according to a statement released by county officials after the meeting.

Officials stressed the importance of a unified message and encouraged everyone to refer to the Centers for Disease Control (cdc.gov) for the latest updates and best practices, and also to visit Ready.gov for information on how to respond in a public emergency.
