The Hapeville City Council has scheduled additional public hearings on a proposed tax increase. The public hearings are to discuss a millage rate increase of .97 mills to 16.11 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.14 mills. The meetings will be 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Municipal Court Complex, 700 Doug Davis Drive, Hapeville. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $48.50 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $58.20.
