The Moe’s Southwest Grill on Highway 78 in Lilburn earned a 60/U on its Aug. 7 inspection. The inspector saw multiple uncovered drink cups in the food preparation area, a violation that had been reported in two previous inspections, according to the report.

Pico de gallo, guacamole, diced tomatoes and salsa were all held at too-high temperatures, marking a second consecutive time the restaurant has been marked down for that violation, the report said. Cheese, bacon bits and sour cream were also at unsafe, high temperatures, the report said.

The inspector also noted that there was no designated person in charge at the restaurant when the inspection began. During the inspection, an employee cooked unwashed mushrooms on a grill and a prep line cooler did not keep food at temperatures low enough to be considered safe, according to the report.

“We are in contact with the local franchise owner of the Moe’s in Lilburn, GA, who is taking this health inspection score seriously and is taking prompt measures to address and correct the violations,” a spokesperson Moe’s said.

Follow-up inspections are typically conducted within 10 days of failures.
