Gwinnett Commissioners voted Monday to approve a $1.5 million one-year contract with The Dickerson Group, Inc. for construction, maintenance and repair associated with watershed improvements and stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP). Work will focus on the Jones Bridge Park, Neely Farm and Glenleaf areas in Peachtree Corners as well as other locations throughout the county.
Work will provide for construction of stream rehabilitation, stormwater ponds, and stormwater wetlands as well as maintenance and repairs on previously constructed watershed improvement projects. Projects will improve water quality and aquatic habitat in line with the goals of the Gwinnett County Watershed Protection Plan. Implementation of this plan is a requirement of the county’s wastewater discharge permits.
