The Grayson City Council approved changes Monday to the city’s automotive sales ordinance. Regulations put in place include requiring automobiles on sales lots must be kept in good operating condition, and any repairs made to autos must be made in vehicle bays. In addition, driveways on car lots must be paved and all autos for sale must be parked on paved areas.
The city revised its special use permits for automobile sales to include rezoning for auto parts and repair, brokerage, vehicle sales and any related services. The city also will require site plans for auto sales centers be approved by the city including all parking areas, including space for car transport carriers. No outdoor speakers or outdoor lighting will be allowed to face residential areas.
