Just ahead of a career fair set for Tuesday, Fulton County Schools has announced that it will give signing bonuses to 2015-2016 new teacher hires.
District officials said that all new instructors will get a minimum $1,000 bonus, and that up to $2,500 can be awarded. Teachers who sign contracts in such high-need areas as math and science or to work in hard-to-staff schools will get a larger bump. Some 700-800 new teachers are being recruited for next school year to accommodate both student growth and attrition.
The career fair is set for 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday (registration begins at 8) at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park.
