A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will arrive Monday to examine all aspects of the Fulton County Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services, Chief of Police Cassandra A. Jones announced.

Verification by the team that Fulton County Police Department meets the commission’s standards is part of a voluntary process to gain reaccreditation.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wolf Creek Library, 3100 Enon Road.

Individuals who cannot attend the session may call in comments at 404-613-5506 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA Standards. A copy of the standards is available at the police department.

Persons wishing to offer written comments about the Fulton County Police Department’s ability to meet the standards for reaccreditation may write to: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc, 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia, 20155.
