Pet owners who might not be able to afford preventative care for their pets can get services Saturday during Healthy Pets DeKalb Day near Decatur.

The event, sponsored by Fix Georgia Pets and LifeLine Animal Project, will offer free vaccinations, free vouchers for spay/neuter, free pet food and other materials.

Organizers also are accepting donations of food and supplies, as well as money to help cover the spay/neuter surgeries that will cost between $50 and $85, depending on the type and gender of the animal.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Shoal Creek Park, 3643 Glenwood Road, near Decatur.
