Forsyth County Schools officials have posted the proposed 2016-17 school calendar online and parents, teachers and students have until Nov. 2 to offer feedback on it.

School district spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo said the calendar is unchanged from the current school year. It includes a weeklong fall break instituted this year, which officials said has proved to be a popular addition.

The proposed calendar has the start of school pegged at Aug. 4, with the year ending May 26, just prior to Memorial Day. The first semester would end Dec. 20, just prior to a two-week holiday break. In addition to the one-week fall break, the system will take off a week at Thanksgiving and a week for spring break.

The calendar also includes four early release days, three of them for parent conferences and one for professional development.
