Forsyth County is raising the fees at its Shady Grove Campground on Lake Lanier to be consistent with recent fee changes by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the agency’s own campsites, a county spokeswoman said.
The new fees, recommended by the Forsyth Parks & Recreation Board, are for the 2017 camping season.
The Forsyth Board of Commissioners approved $2 daily fee increases to $28 for 30-amp hook-up camp sites and to $30 for 50-amp sites. The board also increased fees for the two larger group campgrounds, from $135 to $175 for site No. 106 and from $155 to $200 for site No. 107.
Boat launch fees will rise from $4 to $5 for daily use; from $35 to $40 for annual use; and from $15 to $20 for seniors. Fishing tournament fees also will increase, from $15 to $20.
Shady Grove is at 7800 Allyn Lane Memorial Way, Cumming. It closes Nov. 1 and reopens in March.
