An ethics complaint against Forsyth County District 4 commissioner Cindy Jones Mills will get an airing later this month.

The county’s ethics panel has set a hearing for 10 a.m. June 21 at the Forsyth County Administration Building on a complaint filed by resident Jay Guidry. The complaint claims that Mills ran afoul of the Georgia Open Records act by deleting text messages sent among her, developers concerned with pending zoning issues, attorneys and other county commissioners. Mills has called the allegations “bogus” but hasn’t commented further.

During the hearing, Mills and Guidry will make opening statements and then can testify and/or call witnesses to bolster their cases. The ethics panel will then weigh the evidence and make a decision on whether any penalties should be assessed under the county’s ethics provisions.

The adminisration building’s at 110. E. Main, Cumming.
