A Forsyth County man was arrested Tuesday night on charges that he posed online as a teenage girl to elicit sexually explicit images from underage boys.

Forsyth Sheriff's Deputies arrested Brendan J. Spaar at his residence in Cumming and charged him with four counts of child molestation, four counts of sexual exploitation of children and three counts of computer pornography, said sheriff's spokesman Capt. Tim House. He is being held without bond in the Forsyth County jail.

Forsyth investigator J.D. Roe said Spaar, 31, set up a fake Facebook page, posing as a 16-year-old girl from South Forsyth High named Kinsey Spencer.

"This girl does not exist," Roe said in a statement. "We have checked with the school and no person by this name has ever attended South Forsyth. We are not sure where he got a girl's photo to post on this site."

Roe said Spaar met four boys through the Facebook page and began online relationships. He then sent explicit photos, purportedly of "Kinsey Spencer," to the boys' cellphones and convinced them to send him explicit photos and videos of themselves.

While no physical contact occurred, Roe said Spaar was charged under a state law that allows anyone who electronically transmits sexually explicit images of a child under age 16 to be charged with child molestation.

A Forsyth County middle school administrator discovered the sexting and alerted the sheriff's office. Roe said the investigation is continuing. "There could be other victims we are not aware of," he said. "If anyone recognizes the name that Spaar was posing under and had any contact with him through this fictitious site, please contact the sheriff's office at 770-781-2200."
