Forsyth County has scheduled two public input meetings for August in its continuing effort to gather residents’ comments on the county’s tree ordinance and regulations for mass grading.

The meetings are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22, in Suite 220 of the County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming. The meetings will be conducted as open houses, with an overview at 6:30 p.m. at both sessions.

The Aug. 15 meeting will focus on tree preservation, and the Aug. 22 meeting, to discuss the current requirements and best practices for clearing vegetation and moving earth during the development process, according to a meetings announcement.

“We had a good turnout at the June 20 kick-off meeting, and appreciated the input we received,” said Vanessa Bernstein-Goldman, deputy director of planning and community development. “We look forward to continuing the conversation with Forsyth County stakeholders during our August meetings.”
