The City of Fayetteville has announced the qualifying period for candidates wanting to run for three municipals posts on Nov. 3. The four-year terms of mayor and at-large city council Posts 1 and 2 will be open. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, registered to vote in Georgia, and have lived within the Fayetteville city limits for at least one year before the election.
No one convicted of “a crime involving moral turpitude” (unless fully pardoned) may run. The qualifying fee is $330 for mayor and $240 for city council. Individuals may register 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sept. 1-3 at City Hall, 240 South Glynn St. in Fayetteville.
