Fayette County’s Children at Risk in Education (CARE) program is offering a series of free workshops for parents this fall.
The Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) classes relate to students at all grade levels, and are designed to help parents better understand their children’s behavior and improve communication. Parenting topics include effective listening and discipline. Workshops will be held 6:30-8 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 25, Oct. 2, 16, 23 and 30 and Nov. 6 and 13 at the Center of Innovation’s media center, 440 Hood Ave. in Fayetteville.
Interested parents should contact their children’s school counselor for information; space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
The registration form is at www.fcboe.org under the Programs and CARE links.
