The application window opened Monday for the 2017-18 Marietta City Schools elementary Choice Academies program.

Until Jan. 20, parents can enroll their students in any of the eight schools offering the programs.

The choice program in each school provides unique options for students and promotes Marietta's vision to be the school system of choice, said Emily Lembeck, superintendent until she retires Dec. 31. The lone candidate for her job, Grant Rivera, was named last week.

After applying, you will receive a written notification regarding choice status no later than 15 days after the application period ends, according to the school system's FAQ.

Tours of the elementary schools are available by appointment.

Applications must be mailed to: Cheryl Hood, Marietta City Schools, 250 Howard St. in Marietta.
