Ben Carson, an internationally renowned neurosurgeon and humanitarian, will serve as the commencement speaker at Emory University, officials announced Tuesday. Graduation is scheduled for May 14 on campus.
Carson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008. He is a professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and is known for his work in separating conjoined twins.
Carson will receive an honorary degree during the ceremony.
