The East Point City Council will discuss a fiscal year 2016 budget amendment during the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Ave., Suite 400.

The council will consider a general fund reallocation between the city’s departments, which should not impact the overall budget. There will be a public hearing for an ordinance granting a special use permit to operate a child day care center at 1868 Washington Road, and a special use permit for a large event in the Commons Area on North Main Street. The permit is for the East Point Multicultural Festival.

The council will also consider approval of spending $128,264 with Brindley Pieters & Associates, Inc., for professional engineering design services and spending $65,610.84 for work done by Over and Under General Contractors, Inc., on the conversion of overhead electric system at Duke Properties.
