The East Point City Council recently approved applying to the Environmental Protection Agency for the 2017 Brownfield Assessment Grant Program. The grant provides direct funding for local government assessment, cleanup, revolving loans and environmental job training.
The council also approved an application submitted for the 2016 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant, which provides funding for any police, court or legal education purposes in the amount of $38,988.
Another item approved is a contract for architectural and engineering services from the Sizemore Group. The company will produce the design for the city’s new City Hall complex for $900,000.
The council also approved financing for five 2016 Ford F-150 trucks from Allan Vigil Ford Lincoln Mercury. The trucks will cost $129,163.92.
