It certainly looked like the Atlanta area would be hit Tuesday afternoon by storms moving in from Alabama. But the storms instead headed south, meteorologist said.

"We were ready for them, they just didn't happen," Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist David Chandley said.

There is a slight chance of rain Wednesday, but expect several days of mostly sunny skies, Chandley said.

"Most of us are going to be dry and all of us are going to be hot," Chandley said.

High temperatures through the end of the workweek will reach the lower 90s. And the Fourth of July holiday weekend will be even hotter, Chandley said.

Temperatures Saturday and Sunday are expected to climb to the middle 90s.
