The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced detours for the closures on three weekends in August of the Riverside Drive bridge over I-285 in Sandy Springs.
Weather permitting, the Riverside bridge will be closed for repairs from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday Aug. 5-8, Aug. 12-15 and Aug. 19-22.
Motorists who find themselves north of the bridge closure should take Riverside to Heards Ferry Road, turn east on Heards Ferry to Mount Vernon Highway, and then right on Mount Vernon back to Riverside Drive. To reach Fox Ridge Lane, Fair Oaks Manor or the eastbound ramp to I-285 south of the bridge, turn right from Mount Vernon onto Riverside.
Motorists south of the bridge closure should follow the reverse route: Riverside to Mount Vernon to Heards Ferry back to Riverside. To reach Coldstream Court or the westbound I-285 ramp north of the bridge, turn left from Heards Ferry onto Riverside.
