DeKalb County Commissioner Kathie Gannon, Solicitor Sherry Boston and County Clerk Debra DeBerry have kicked off a food drive to help residents struggling in the new year.
Donations
of non-perishable food items will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which distributes to more than 58,000 families in the metro area weekly. High-protein items such as tuna and peanut butter are especially needed, as are fruit juices and canned vegetables.
Donations are accepted through Valentine’s Day at the Maloof building and county courthouse in downtown Decatur as well as the Tax Commissioner’s office, 4380 Memorial Dr., near Decatur.
