The Kiwanis Club of Marietta Business and Public Affairs Committee will dedicate a plaque and bench in honor of Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Debra Halpern Bernes on Sept. 21 in Marietta..
Bernes, a former Cobb County prosecutor, died last year after a long bout with cancer.
Presentations and remarks will be given by Georgia Supreme Court Justice P. Harris Hines, Georgia Appeals Court Chief Judge John J. Ellington and state Attorney General Sam Olens.
The dedication is open to the public and begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Cobb County Superior Courthouse, 70 Haynes Street in Marietta.
