A cyclist died after being hit by a car Friday night in Lawrenceville, authorities said.
Shay Swords, 38, of Lawrenceville was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Maltbie Street and McConnell Drive when he was hit by a Nissan, Lawrenceville police said. The crash happened around 7 p.m.
Swords later died at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Sgt. Chris Ralston said that, as of Monday, no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old Lawrenceville woman.
No further information was immediately available.
