Coronavirus impacts ‘Rock for Rescues,’ other Woodstock events

“Rock for Rescues,” the annual music festival to benefit metro Atlanta animal rescue organizations, is among the latest casualties of “social distancing” in the COVID-19 outbreak.
The festival, recently moved from Milton and set for Saturday, April 25, in Woodstock, has been postponed. Rock for Rescues is working with the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater to identify a new date in the fall. Meanwhile, it urges people to donate individually to local rescue groups. “Naturally we’re disappointed, but the health and welfare of the community and our partners is the top priority,” said Ray Baker, festival founder.
Woodstock also announced the May 9 “Ultimate Queen Celebration Starring Marc Martel,” the opening act of the 2020 Woodstock Summer Concert Series, has been rescheduled to July 31; the April 24 Sunset Symphony at Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater has been canceled; the April 25 Greenstock Day & Recycling Event is moved to June 20; and the City-Wide Yard Sale will be June 19-21.
