The Austell Community Taskforce Partnership meets at 10 a.m. Thursday at the South Cobb Recreation Center, 875 Six Flags Drive, Austell to learn about Community Development Block Grants.
These funds come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Cobb County CDBG Program Office.
The office uses the federal money each year to fund public facilities and public services to help low- and moderate-income persons and special-need individuals residing in the county.
While funds are primarily awarded to nonprofits or county agencies, the county will be funding a new restroom for Legion Field, 5514 Austell-Powder Springs Road, Austell to make it accessible to the disabled.
