Commission approves senior services center addition

Nov 7, 2012

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved an addition to a senior services center in Lawrenceville.

Commissioners awarded a $2.1 million contract to Talbot Construction of Suwanee to build the addition to the center on Swanson Drive. The 12,000-square-foot addition includes a new commercial kitchen that will be used to prepare meals for seniors and caregivers.

Gwinnett will use federal community development block grant funds to pay for the project. Construction will begin later this month and is expected to take about a year.
