City council approves 6 reappointments

Six reappointments were approved on Nov. 4 by the Smyrna City Council with no dissent.

Among his last actions as Smyrna’s mayor for the last 34 years, Max Bacon’s reappointment of Liz Davis to the Keep Smyrna Beautiful Board was approved for a four-year term to expire December 2023.

Ward 6 Councilman Tim Gould’s reappointment of Paula Weeks to the Parks and Recreation Commission was approved for a two-year term to expire December 2021.

Another reappointment by Gould also was okayed - Michael Seagraves to the Planning and Zoning Board for a two-year term to expire December 2021.

Ward 4 Councilman Charles Welch’s reappointment of Tom Sconzo to the Parks and Recreation Commission was approved for a two-year term to expire December 2021.

Also approved was another reappointment by Welch of Earl Rice to the Planning and Zoning Board for a two-year term to expire December 2021.

Another reappointment by Welch that was okayed was Karleen McNabb to the Keep Smyrna Beautiful Board for a two-year term to expire December 2021.

The program will feature a concert by the Marietta chapter of the national Barbershop Harmony Society and the Big Chicken Chorus, performing favorite patriotic medleys. The Marietta Daily Journal will present a documentary film "Memories of War" with interviews of local World War II veterans.   • Kennesaw Veterans Day Lunch. Noon-2 p.m. Monday. Free for active-duty U.S. military members and veterans with no ID. Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw. Hosts will be the city of Kennesaw and the Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304. Additional sponsors include Rafferty's Restaurant & Bar, HighPoint Church and Kennesaw Family Life Church.
