The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 today to buy several pieces of equipment at $519,508 for snow and ice cleaning to help control the disastrous road conditions of recent winters.
An Elgin Eagle Sweeper will be purchased from Environmental Products of Georgia for $273,755 plus $66,121 for a five-year turn-key maintenance agreement.
Four 2016 Ford F-250 V8 Crew Cab 4X4 Long Bed pickup trucks will be bought by state contract for $145,432 or $36,358 each.
For a total of $34,200, four Saltdogg SHPE-2000 Spreaders at $3,950 each and four Snowdogg EX-75 Plows at $4,600 each will be bought from low bidder, Cherokee Truck Equipment.
Funding will come from the 2016 special purpose local option sales tax.
