The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will hold one public hearing on the $783.8 million budget before its expected adoption at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 in the Board of Commissioners Room, second floor, 100 Cherokee St., Marietta.
That public hearing will be 7 p.m. Aug. 25 in the same room.
The budget will go into effect Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2016.
The net taxable digest is expected to increase by 3.21 percent for the third consecutive year of tax digest increases.
For that reason, the proposed millage rate is at the pre-recession level of 6.82.
Comprising 56 percent of the $350 million general fund budget as a part of the overall budget, the next budget includes a $197 million investment in public safety and courts.
