Four Cherokee County School District campuses have been named finalists for the 2015 Georgia STEM Education Awards, recognizing schools doing an outstanding job promoting science, technology, engineering and math instruction.
The schools are: Teasley Middle School, Creekview High School, Canton Elementary School STEM Academy and Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy.
All four have drawn attention both within and outside the districts for such projects as the district’s first aquaponics lab at Canton Elementary and the Team America Rocketry Challenge at Creekview.
The Technology Association of Georgia will recognize the winners at an Aug. 28 gala in Atlanta, where 40 schools, organizations and companies will be recognized for their achievements.
