Cherokee County officials are accepting applications for 2016 Community Development Block Grant funds through late next month.
The federal program is designed to substantially benefit low and moderate income residents. Officials said eligible projects include housing improvement projects, public facilities such as curbs and gutters and buildings such as senior centers and nonprofit facilities.
Groups and agencies must submit all applications and supporting documents by 4 p.m. May 29. In addition, officials will hold two workshops on the program process and timeline, at 9 a.m. May 7 and 3:30 p.m. May 13 at the Cherokee County Administration Building, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.
