The Canton City Council will deal with a varied agenda when it meets for a work session 6 p.m. Thursday at city hall, 151 Elizabeth St.

Council members will again discuss architectural services for the planned city/county fire station slated for the Laurel Canyon area. Although the council has approved hiring Sutton Architectural Services to design the project, city officials are holding off on signing a formal contract until the firm is vetted.

Council members will also weigh an amendment to the city’s parking ordinance, setting varying limits in front of and near downtown businesses. The governing body will hear the city’s 2014 comprehensive annual financial report, presented by accounting firm Rushton and Co. Also on the agenda, council members will discuss an update on the Downtown Development Authority’s strategic work plan, as well as update broader goals for downtown.
